The main differences are that the new Chime Pro has dual-band 2.4Ghz & 5GHz Wi-Fi connectivity (vs 2.4GHz only), a built-in nightlight, and guided feedback during the setup process to help find the best location for your Chime Pro.
Both Chime Pro and Chime work with all Ring Video Doorbells and Cameras, plug into standard wall sockets, and let you hear real-time notifications at home.

A Chime Pro is the simplest way to expand and improve coverage only to your Ring devices, directly from your Ring app. An alternative solution to improve household connectivity would be to install a mesh Wi-Fi device such as Amazon eero, which can amplify your internet connection to reduce weak Wi-Fi areas in your home, improving connectivity for all your smart devices.
Wifi extender works only with Ring Video Doorbells and Security Cameras. It is not compatible with other electronic devices.
