We're teaming up with RTÉ 2FM's beloved Carl Mullan for something that's never been done before - we're on the hunt for the first-ever Irish voice for Ring!
Did you know that a whopping 55% of Irish people are head over heels in love with their accent? (And who could blame them?) From the melodic warmth of Cork to the friendly tones of Donegal, Irish accents capture the imagination of listeners far and wide.
Speaking of Cork - it's officially Ireland's favourite accent, with 23% of the nation giving it the thumbs up! Donegal (19%), Dublin (18%), and Kerry (12%) aren't far behind, each bringing their own unique charm to the table.
Want to be the Irish Ring Voice of the Nation? We’ve made auditioning easy:
- Pop along to our in-person auditions in Cork, Galway, or Dublin this August
- Or get creative at home - record yourself on TikTok or Instagram
- Have a Ring device? Use that to audition right from your doorstep!
Just remember to say these magic words: "We can’t answer the door right now, but if you’d like to leave a message, you can do it now". Or if you prefer to use Irish, go for: "Dia dhuit! Ní féidir linn an doras a oscailt faoi láthair, ach más mian leat teachtaireacht ghearr a fhágáil is féidir leat é sin a dhéanamh anois”.
We want to hear from you!
Ready to give it a go? Auditions open from 10am on Saturday 2nd August. Just tag @Ring and use #RingsVoiceoftheNation in your audition video. Carl Mullan will joining us as one of the judges and as he says, there's something truly "enchanting and melodic" about Irish accents. Don't be shy - get your audition in before the casting call closes on 5th September.
“The Irish accent is renowned all over the world and I’m buzzing to launch Ring’s Voice of the Nation campaign to bring our lovely accent to devices across the country. There’s something enchanting and melodic about our accents and I can’t wait to see what the people of Ireland come up with for their auditions,” Carl Mullan told us.
The lucky person will record a set of Quick Replies that'll be available on Ring Video Doorbells across Ireland, rolling out ahead of St Patrick's Day 2026. Imagine your voice being the friendly greeting at thousands of Irish doorsteps!
“Our customers find Quick Replies really helpful when they want to answer the door, but just can’t make it in time," said Dave Ward, Managing Director EU & International at Ring. "We’re celebrating the beauty of Irish accents by personalising this useful feature and bringing authentic local dialects to doorsteps across Ireland.”
Fun Fact
If the Irish could pick any celebrity voice for their smart devices, Cillian Murphy would be the top choice (15%), with Daniel O'Donnell and Tommy Tiernan tied for second place (8% each).
So, what are you waiting for? Channel your inner voice artist and show us what you've got. Who knows? Your voice could soon be the one making visitors smile at doorsteps all over Ireland.
